When editing an order you are directly making changes that will affect the customer's order within their partner app. Each partner varies in how they communicate these edits and updates to orders.
Order item edits include:
Removing an item from an order
Updating an item quantity
Substituting an item
UberEats
Whenever an order item edit is made, UberEats will update the customer receipt.
Note: There is no clear indication that an item has been edited once the edit is complete but the changes are accurately reflected in the order receipt.
DoorDash
Whenever an order item edit is made, DoorDash will update the customer receipt.
Unlike others, DoorDash has clear indicators that an item has been edited once the edit is complete.
GruhHub
Whenever an order item edit is made, GrubHub will reach out to the customer through their support channels to confirm these changes. Grubhub does not display any updates for the customers during a live order.
